Sphere | Immersive Shows on Sands Ave, Las Vegas
Sphere seats 17,600 under a 16K wraparound LED screen off Sands Avenue in Las Vegas, home to purpose-built films and concert residencies.
Madison Square Garden Company announced the project in 2018 as MSG Sphere and broke ground on September 27, 2018. Populous drew it; construction ran from 2019 to 2023 and the venue opened on September 29, 2023 on an eighteen-acre site behind The Venetian. Sphere Entertainment operates it, and a second venue, Sphere Abu Dhabi, is in development under the same company.
A 16K screen wrapped around 17,600 seats, with haptics in the chairs and wind, scent and fog cued into the show. No bags, no laptops, cashless throughout, mobile tickets only.
A 366-foot venue east of the Las Vegas Strip, linked to The Venetian by a pedestrian bridge, where the building itself is the screen. Shows run as purpose-built films or concert residencies, and entry is no-bag, cashless and mobile-ticket only.

Common questions
Where do I enter Sphere?
On foot from Sands Avenue: the West VIP entry for Director's Seat packages, or the Venetian Bridge stairway for standard admission. Additional entrances sit on Westchester Drive, past the security checkpoint, leading to the Plaza Entry on the east side.
Can I bring a bag?
Sphere is a no-bag facility. Small clutches, purses and fanny packs up to roughly six by six by two inches are allowed, along with diaper bags and medical bags. There is no coat or bag check onsite.
How do tickets work?
Mobile tickets only, purchased through Ticketmaster via thesphere.com or in person at the Sphere Concierge, which opens at least an hour before a film. There is a limit of eight tickets per transaction, and all sales are final.
What should I know before the show?
Events use seat haptics, wind, scent, fog, mist, intense lighting and loud sound. The venue advises guests with medical or physical conditions, and anyone pregnant, to consult a physician first. It is also fully cashless.
