Herbs and Rye opened in 2009 in a strip-mall room on West Sahara Avenue, roughly three miles west of the Strip, and has stayed in it since. Nectaly Mendoza runs the place: velvet wallpaper, black leather booths, chandeliers, and a bar that keeps serving until three in the morning, which is why it fills with other bartenders and cooks after their own shifts finish. Mendoza has since opened a second Las Vegas room, Cleaver, which shares the same reservation page.
