Michael Mina launched his San Francisco career more than two decades ago before expanding nationally. His return — Bourbon Steak at the Westin St. Francis, Union Square — opened October 10, 2025, in partnership with NBA champion Stephen Curry, who simultaneously unveiled his whiskey bar The Eighth Rule in the adjacent space. The Westin St. Francis is one of the city's oldest grand hotels; the Art Deco dining room with circular velvet banquettes and deep teal walls gives Mina's steakhouse the setting it deserves.
